First Horizon is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and collaborative Sr. HR Consultant to assist with successful analysis and execution of HR operational and strategic initiatives. The role will support daily HR operational needs and HCM enhancements for the enterprise, act as a lead on HR projects, and contribute to the HR platform strategic roadmap executed by the team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds strong relationships across teams, and excels at both strategic planning and tactical execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will:
Provide ongoing support for the HCM platform by compiling and analyzing data, generating reports, and ensuring timely follow‑through on all requests for data and reporting.
Design and deliver dashboards and insights for HR leaders; define success metrics, validate data accuracy, and present findings with clear, actionable recommendations.
Lead process improvement initiatives and optimize system workflows to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual work.
Plan and execute testing for new HCM functionality; support end‑user training, system configuration, data conversions, and vendor release activities.
Perform vendor release impact analysis, test new features, and recommend opportunities to leverage new functionality to improve associate experience and outcomes.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and vendors to gather requirements, configure systems, and deliver projects from initiation through execution; build strong relationships to enhance cooperation and information sharing.
Manage multiple projects concurrently and serve as a liaison between project teams and HR leadership to drive decisions, mitigate risks, and maintain timelines.
Maintain and enforce standardized processes and procedures to ensure efficient, compliant, and consistent HR Technology operations.
Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to align stakeholders, resolve issues, and drive progress.
Develop and execute change management strategies—including stakeholder engagement, communications, and training—to support successful adoption of HR programs and processes.
Provide strategic advisory and solution design, translating HR business objectives into scalable HCM solutions; lead fit‑gap analysis, configuration decisions, and design reviews that prioritize simplicity, automation, and a positive associate experience.
Identify and evaluate HR use cases for AI; partner with Risk, Security, and HR leadership to apply responsible AI guardrails, and pilot approved capabilities with clear value measures.
Serve as an escalation point for complex HR technology issues; perform root‑cause analysis, implement sustainable fixes, and maintain knowledge content to improve first‑contact resolution.

Qualifications

Bachelor (4-year college) degree and 0-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
The ability to exercise discretion, judgment, tact, and poise in handling highly sensitive and confidential information
Excellent at communicating (verbal and written) and building relationships at all levels in an organization with an emphasis on promoting a culture of positivity, teamwork and results
Curious beyond simply completing tasks, and passionate about solving problems and growing your knowledge
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Able to work independently and manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously under tight deadlines

Incredibly detail-oriented and organized, and create order in all you touch
Proficiency in using HCM configuration tools and HR reporting tools. Familiarity with data migration and integration concepts
Practical understanding of the HR discipline including Benefits, Core HR, Learning, Payroll, Recruiting, and Talent Management
Computer and Office Equipment Skills
Microsoft Office suite (Excel)
HR system administration and/or HCM system experience required
Report development experience required (IBM Cognos preferred)
SQL or code writing experience required
