Aerotek Facilities Maintenance Technician in Memphis, Tennessee

Job Description

We are seeking a candidate with a focus on supervising, leading, and supporting the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment on all HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems. The role requires multi-skilled individuals who can effectively complete daily and weekly work assignments across various technical areas.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety policies and procedures and maintain strict attention to detail on job sites.

  • Perform ongoing preventive and repair work on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.

  • Utilize CMMS work order system to manage the timely completion of all maintenance assignments.

  • Provide support for Operations and Engineering leadership to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.

  • Analyze the operation of various systems, determine causes of issues, and take corrective actions as required.

  • Diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment, plumbing components, and electrical components.

  • Complete special tasks including painting, pressure washing, tenant services requests, and general maintenance.

  • Perform facility rounds and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.

  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants and agencies, minimizing disruption and inconvenience.

  • Recognize and propose methods to eliminate safety hazards.

  • Support after-hours building-related activities as required.

  • Maintain records of building rounds, readings, and engineering data sheets.

  • Teach and support team members, promoting a culture of self-performance and professionalism.

  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment with adequate tools and supplies.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to identify and implement cost savings.

  • Complete all required safety training on schedule.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, with technical training or degree.

  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License.

  • Universal EPA / CFC license.

  • Minimum of four years of technical experience in building engineering, particularly in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

  • Hands-on skills for commercial HVAC system repairs and maintenance.

  • Ability to work independently and in an on-call rotation.

  • Effective use of Microsoft Office, CMMS, and internet-based software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Two years of trade school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, or other craft skills preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and manage Corrective and Preventative Action Plans.

  • High-level knowledge and enforcement of Health and Safety regulations.

  • Ability to respond to emergency service calls within 45 minutes.

Work Environment

This position is based in a commercial setting. The role involves public-facing interactions and requires adaptability to events and happenings in the city. You will work both indoors and outdoors, occasionally in extreme weather conditions, and be exposed to mechanical parts and heavy equipment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
