Position Summary:
Assists
in
performance
of
procedures
for
the
surgical
patient
in
a manner
consistent
with
established
policies
and
procedures. The
Certified Surgical
Technician
First
Assistant
(CS
FA)
will
support
the continuity
of
care
for
perioperative
patients.
The
scope
of
practice includes
intraoperative
surgical
first
assisting.
The
CS
FA
will
provide intraoperative
surgical
care
under
the
direct
supervision
of
the surgeon
for
all
ages
and/or
provide
direction
to
the
perioperative team
where
needed.
Performs
other
duties
as
assigned.

Coordinate
with
hospital
supplies,
equipment,
and
instruments
needed
for
surgery
Scrub
and
assist
in
surgical
procedures
Review
and
update
physician's
hospital
preference
cards
as
needed
Transport
and
up-keep
of
physicia
n
's
surgical
instruments
Assist
in
office procedures
as
needed
