Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Batch Maker for the 2nd shift, operating from Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 11 PM. The role involves reviewing assigned formulas for chemical and packaging requirements, ensuring the proper sequence of reactions and mixing, and completing assigned batches within the allotted time.
Responsibilities
Retrieve ingredients as indicated on the formula, ensuring only QC-approved ingredients are used.
Accurately measure ingredients and record any substitutions or over-pours, obtaining supervisor approval as needed.
Follow good manufacturing guidelines and monitor equipment, observing production throughout the batch process.
Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to gather raw materials.
Take ownership and notify warehouse/supervisor of missing raw materials needed to complete the batch.
Package approved batches and label all finished product containers.
Stock supplies and label containers of raw materials when needed.
Use equipment that is in proper working condition and perform routine maintenance as required.
Clean, sanitize, and inspect tools, pumps, tanks, pipelines, and other equipment.
Complete end-of-day procedures, including restocking raw materials, housekeeping, and controlling and documenting waste.
Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
Train new operators/mixers and help in other areas of the plant.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Observe all safety rules and procedures, including lock-out tag-out procedures.
Essential Skills
Experience as a mixer, blender, batch maker, or in batch mixing and compounding.
Basic math skills.
3+ years of experience in manufacturing/production, particularly in liquid production, is highly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in machine operation and production processes.

The role operates in a general manufacturing environment focused on soap making. The plant is smaller yet temperature-controlled, with strong soap fragrance smells.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MEMPHIS, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
