Description
This is a hands-on, lab-based stretch opportunity located in person at the Packaging Testing Lab in Melville, NY .
You will play a critical role in generating the experimental backbone for our fragrance–packaging compatibility intelligence platform.
Day-to-Day Activities
Prepare sample sets - labels on plastic plaques, adhesive joints for plastic bonding, fragrance ingredient–plastic
Accurately weigh and document material changes over time
Measure dimensional shifts using lab tools
Visually assess and record physical appearance changes
Track time-dependent effects (Week 1 → Week 4 and beyond)
Measure separation force and tensile properties on an Instron machine
Maintain organized, high-quality lab documentation
Qualifications
Preferred Skills
Background or interest in Packaging, Material Science, Chemistry, or Engineering
Experience handling lab equipment (Instron Tensile testing machine, balances, calipers, visual inspection tools)
Familiarity with polymers or plastics
Curiosity about adhesives and fragrance chemistry
Experiences That Matter
Lab-based testing or experimental work
Quality evaluation or materials testing
Work involving structured data collection
