The Estee Lauder Companies Director, Compounding in Melville, New York
Description
To lead the Compounding, AGI, Biofermentation and Preweigh departments in all initiatives and deliverables: drive safety, quality, compliance, output and efficiency. To develop and implement technical plans for the areas of control to meet current and future business needs (training, organization, equipment etc.)
Provide solid leadership and process expertise
Lead development and execution of projects impacting Compounding performance in above metrics
Serve as liaison between TSO/R&D and the Plant for new product launch
Develop and maintain technical training program for new and existing compounders
Track and trend CAPAs, deviations, QNs, investigations to improve Right First Time production
- Change Management
Develop and Drive cultural change in Compounding, AGI, Biofermentation and Preweigh via a vision, aligned plans and confident leadership.
Improve Labor Efficiencies via reducing hours per Batch/Kettle Idle time and Asset Efficiency.
Drive Kettle Turn Improvement as per fiscal commitments.
Reduce Quality rejects and sustain the gains through CI – standard work and process improvements.
Give general and specific direction to Managers to meet short-term and long-term goals.
- Leadership activities
Execute current fiscal and 5-year plan.
Set clear direction to Leaders and hold accountable to execute plans.
Develop cost standards for T.S./Production, monitor and control to meet or exceed objectives.
Resolve Manufacturing/Production issues to meet all objectives.
Prioritize resources to achieve mass/production requirements (launch, S/L etc.) and maintain appropriate customer service levels to all Brands.
Provide strategic direction, motivation and coaching to production team leaders and team members.
Drive and improve production team’s performance by measuring key performance indicators and leading activities towards continuous improvement.
Carry out quarterly and annual Performance reviews for direct reports.
- Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement methods to improve overall performance of each functional area (Compounding, Production, Engineering direct labor).
Identify, justify and support Capital Expenditures program for functional areas (T.S.).
Develop, implement and control process improvements for functional area (S.O.P.'s and training/Procedures etc.).
Qualifications
8-10 years in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated progression through various levels of management and responsibilities.
Demonstrated people management capability in the following areas: team building, interpersonal skills, communication and negotiation.
Very strong analytical capabilities.
Proven Problem-Solving capabilities through formal training.
Floor leadership, knowledge of Operations.
