About the role
Located just outside of Chicago, our Melrose Park location is part of our Meat division and creates batter blends, pastry blends, and bread crumbs. We are a fast paced, never a dull moment manufacturing facility that comes together as a team to get the job done. With a growing portfolio, comes need to grow our team! We have 3 vacancies on the Monday to Friday, 2nd shift 2pm to 10pm*
Key responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned in support of facility maintenance and safety measures.
Working Hours Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm.

Note Melrose Park is part of a Union.
• Follow all facility Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety rules, quality standards and requirements.
• Safely handle chemicals using appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and follow established procedures.
• Remove debris from the warehouse, production and walkways of the facility throughout the shift. Clean as you go.
• Assist production in emptying balers used for cardboard, paper bags and plastic recycling. Load recyclables onto a trailer.
• Cleans floors using brooms, a mop and bucket, walk behind floor scrubber, or ride on scrubber. Perform and document the proper cleaning and maintenance of the scrubber.
• Follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or verbal directions from leads/supervisors/managers in performing assigned sanitor or janitorial tasks.
• Accurately document completion of tasks using multiple forms of documentation. Work orders, Master Sanitation Schedules, check lists and task assignment lists.
• Assist production department in cleaning tasks within the production area. This would include equipment inside the rooms or other associated areas.
• Replenish supplies including, but not limited to PPE, hand sanitizers, hand washing and welfare areas.
• Perform a weekly inventory of supplies assigned by the Sanitation Supervisor/Manager.
• Perform roof and ground sanitary maintenance in all seasons. This would include removal of ice, snow, trash, or spillage from plant grounds.
• Gain proficiency with equipment assigned to the Sanitation Department including but not limited to Forklift, Scissor Lift, Articulating Boom and Snow Blower.
• Must be flexible in task assignments as priorities during the day/week may change.
• Must be comfortable obtaining the certifications listed below as required.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and six months related experience and training in a facility of similar make up and size; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS, MATHEMATICAL SKILLS, REASONING ABILITY
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Chemical handling, forklift, scissor lift, articulating boom, confined space work, working at heights, lock out tag out (all Kerry issued). These may be acquired while a holder of this job.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must know plant color codes.

Compensation Information
The pay rate for this position is $22.38 per hour.
