About the role

In this role, the Laboratory Supervisor, Pre-Analytical directs the daily operation of non-testing laboratory services for phlebotomy, to ensure the pre-analytical and post-analytical precision and reproducibility of laboratory test results in accordance with accreditation standards and guidelines.

What you'll do

  • Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring effective use of staff, equipment, space, and supplies.

  • Prepare schedules, monitor productivity, and meet established turnaround times.

  • Review daily work to identify and correct errors; maintain workload and QC logs.

  • Assess clinical and operational needs and apply appropriate leadership to keep operations efficient.

  • Serve as the primary contact for nursing and other hospital departments.

  • Act as a resource for staff decision‑making and problem‑solving.

  • Perform phlebotomy or bench‑related duties as needed.

Here is what you will need

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience

  • Specific Degree(s): Science or healthcare related field

  • Greater than 2 years of experience in the designated specialty or area of responsibility

Preferred:

  • Prefer candidates who qualify under CLIA 88 as general supervisor

Licensure/Certifications:

Preferred:

  • Phlebotomy certification (approved certifying agency) and/or certification as Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or laboratory discipline specific or specialty certificate (ASCP or AMT or other approved certifying agency)

  • Other: Prefer the candidate meets CLIA88 qualifications as general supervisor (high complexity testing).

Applicants for this position must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor an employment visa for this position.

Pay Range: $66,000 - 106,000 Annualized

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
