About the Role
We’re recruiting an Assistant Category & Insights Manager to join our Commercial team on a Fixed ‑ term Contract through to December 2026. This role supports category growth by delivering high ‑ quality, evidence ‑ based insights and recommendations across key categories, with a strong focus on deep data analysis and commercial application.
Reporting to a Category & Insights Manager, the role operates at the intersection of Category Management, Insights, Sales and Marketing, leading defined workstreams such as range reviews and category reporting while supporting broader category and insight delivery. Success in this role will be driven by strong analytical capability, the ability to translate data the data into clear commercial action and present this to senior stakeholders.
The position is suited to someone with strong FMCG analytics experience who is ready to take greater ownership and operate with confidence in a stakeholder ‑ heavy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver actionable category and commercial insights by interrogating and synthesising consumer, shopper and market data
Lead defined workstreams such as range reviews, aligning Sales and Marketing and contributing to clear, category ‑ led retailer narratives
Translate complex datasets into clear, concise and commercially relevant stories for internal stakeholders
Provide agnostic, evidence ‑ based recommendations to influence pricing, promotional and portfolio decisions
Present insights confidently to senior stakeholders and respond to challenge with clarity and commercial judgement
Maintain data integrity and effective use of category and insight platforms
About You
You will bring:
Experience in a Category, Insights or Analytics or hybrid role within FMCG, retail or agency environments
Strong hands ‑ on capability with category and insight platforms such as Circana and/or Quantium, with demonstrated data interrogation depth
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate insight into clear commercial actions
Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions without direct authority
Strong prioritisation skills in a fast ‑ paced, stakeholder ‑ driven environment
A curious, commercially minded approach with the confidence to take ownership of defined workstreams
