Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is seeking a talented Integration and Test Engineer to support the design, documentation, and deployment of systems and services. This engineer will work with other engineers to support and recommend resolutions to deployment issues that arise. They will be responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and enforcement of test processes. They will develop plans and schedules for short-term work activities. They will understand and apply applicable engineering processes for all deployment and testing activities and be responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and enforcement of processes. As an I&T Engineer, you will be working to help support the global aviation community with systems and services that significantly increase the safety, security and capacity of global air traffic management systems to meet the growing demand of air transportation operations.
Essential Functions:
Act as an Integration and Test Engineer on the Voice Switching and Control System (VSCS) program for equipment removal and installation activities
Lead the installation team, ensuring effective communication with team members and management
Diagnose and resolve hardware connectivity and operational issues
Coordinate effectively with FAA customers and subcontractors
Provide onsite support for system retrofit activities and deliver comprehensive reports to management and customers
Coordinate with the project lead to address and resolve project actions and issues
Conduct site surveys, generate detailed reports, and manage the ordering, testing, and shipping of equipment
Identify and communicate risks and opportunities to the project lead
Propose and implement process improvement initiatives, reporting progress to the project lead
Utilize a robust engineering process to resolve technical issues to closure
Ability to obtain a FAA Public Trust security clearance.
Requires 90% travel and work at various FAA sites for 3-to-9-month durations as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience integrating and testing large electronic systems
Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues in complex systems, including hardware, software, and communication networks
Experience in testing deployed systems
Strong understanding of communication systems architecture and protocols.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex technical issues.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
Effective leadership and team management abilities
Experience with logistics management, including inventory control and equipment shipping
Capability to work under pressure and manage time-sensitive projects
Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for on-site installations
Background in training and mentoring team members
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on technological advancements in communication systems
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
