We are seeking a Senior Associate Engineer to provide technical leadership, deliver cutting‑edge engineering solutions, and guide multidisciplinary teams through some of Australia’s most challenging geo‑environmental projects.

As a Senior Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will:

  • Design and deliver innovative engineering solutions for subsurface and earth‑structure projects.

  • Lead complex and challenging projects across geo‑environmental engineering, waste and contamination management, mining, hazardous dams, and major infrastructure works.

  • Develop high‑quality technical reports, specifications, drawings, and documentation across all project phases, from concept to decommissioning.

  • Communicate complex technical issues and guide clients through regulatory frameworks with clarity and confidence.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence.

  • Manage scope, risks, and environmental impacts across multiple projects of varying scale and complexity.

  • Lead winning proposals, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to business growth.

  • Uphold WSP’s HSE standards, quality systems, and Code of Ethics, ensuring all work maintains high safety and ethical standards.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required); Civil, Geotechnical or similar; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.

  • 10+ years’ experience across civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering.

  • Technical expertise in subsurface environmental risk management, geosynthetics, earthworks and embankments,

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project scopes, variations, and delivery outcomes.

  • Strong project management skills with a commitment to innovation, quality, and timely delivery.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated capability in business development and building strong client partnerships.

  • High‑level safety leadership and experience applying safety‑in‑design principles.

  • Experience mentoring and developing early‑career engineers and promoting cross‑team knowledge sharing.

  • Advanced Digital Engineering/BIM capability (highly valued).

  • Current unrestricted Australian driver’s license.
