Your role and responsibilities
As a Lead Integration Architect supporting a large, multi‑system program, you will define and oversee the integration and data movement architecture across a complex enterprise landscape. The role has a strong emphasis on Azure-native integration and data services, including Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory/Data Pipelines, and secure data exchange patterns.
You will provide architectural leadership across API-led integrations, event-driven patterns, secure data ingestion pipelines, and cloud-native application components. This role requires deep Azure expertise, strong governance capability, and the ability to establish clear, scalable architecture patterns for delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Architecture Leadership
Lead end‑to‑end integration architecture across complex system landscapes.
Architect solutions using Azure Logic Apps, Function Apps, APIM, Event Grid, and Service Bus.
Define and govern reusable integration patterns and architectural standards.
Ensure integration solutions meet performance, resilience, and security requirement.
Data Integration & Secure Data Pipelines
Design and govern secure data ingestion and transformation pipelines using:
Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Azure Data Pipelines
Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
Define event-driven and batch data movement patterns.
Ensure alignment with data governance, encryption, and compliance requirements.
Cloud-Native & Application Architecture Support
Support cloud-native application design using Azure PaaS and serverless technologies.
Map legacy and existing workloads to Azure-native architectures.
Ensure integration and application components form a cohesive architecture.
Solution Governance & Delivery Oversight
Review and approve solution designs across integration and data domains.
Provide technical guidance and architecture assurance to engineering teams.
Identify and mitigate architecture risks early in delivery cycles.
Support DevOps, CI/CD, and operational readiness planning.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a senior technical advisor to program leadership and business stakeholders.
Communicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, risks, and rationale clearly.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, external vendors, and partner organisations.
Required technical and professional expertise
Core Integration Expertise
Strong practical experience with:
Azure Logic Apps
Azure Functions
Azure API Management
Event Grid / Event Hub / Service Bus
Deep understanding of REST, API governance, API lifecycle, and integration security.
Azure Data Services & Secure Pipelines
Expertise with ADF, Azure Data Lake, and secure data pipelines.
Experience designing secure data ingestion, transformation, and distribution workflows.
Strong understanding of enterprise data governance and secure‑by‑design principles.
Application & Cloud Architecture Skills
Experience with cloud-native application patterns and microservices architectures.
Development background with Node.js, Java/Spring Boot, or similar frameworks.
Knowledge of event-driven and distributed system design patterns.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Pre‑sales and bid support capability, including:
Ability to articulate the business value and technical benefits of Azure and cloud services.
Contributing to proposals, estimations, architecture overviews, and customer presentations.
Engaging with customers in early opportunity shaping to define high‑level integration and cloud approaches.
Experience with front-end technologies (Angular.js, JavaScript, CSS) — secondary to integration and data skills.
Familiarity working within large enterprise programs with multi-vendor delivery environments.
