About the role
As a Data Engineer (Data Quality & ETL), you will make an impact by designing and delivering trusted data pipelines that underpin analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives. You will be a valued member of our Technology Consulting team, working collaboratively with Data Quality Architects, solution teams, and client stakeholders to build scalable, high-quality AWS-based data platforms.
In this role, you will:
Design, build, and operate AWS-based ETL pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and migration initiatives
Partner closely with Data Quality Architects to implement data quality rules, controls, and remediation strategies
Embed data quality validation into data pipelines to ensure reliability, accuracy, and consistency of data
Enable data quality reporting and insights using tools such as AWS Athena, Power BI, and Excel
Collaborate with cross-functional consulting and delivery teams in fast-paced client environments
Work model

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office. What you must have to be considered
Experience designing and building ETL and data pipelines in AWS environments
Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, including ETL jobs and data cataloging
Strong SQL skills, with experience querying data using tools such as AWS Athena
Working knowledge of data quality concepts such as completeness, accuracy, and consistency
Ability to communicate data issues and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
These will help you succeed
Experience integrating data quality rules into ETL pipelines and reporting workflows
Exposure to additional AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Step Functions, or CloudWatch
Experience supporting data migration, modernisation, or platform transformation programs
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts for data pipelines
Consulting or client-facing delivery experience
