Chief Estimator

(Medley, FL) Full-Time

We are a Specialized Concrete Manufacturer with Certified Plant and Manufacturer Certifications by the Precast Concrete Institute (PCI). Oversee and manage the estimating team (2 estimators and 2 project managers), including training, and performance management of estimators. Maintain communication with the estimating staff to facilitate accurate estimates for projects. Liaise and consult with clients and vendors to produce and formulate construction cost estimates. Research the current rates for materials needed. Collaborate with architects and vendors in developing bids and proposals. Create detailed cost breakdowns. Analyze construction plans and documentation, including blueprints. Review labor and material requirements to accurately create project-specific estimates of various costs such as materials, labor and others. Write and prepare cost proposals. Evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors. Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings. Track actual cost relative to bids as the project develops. Prepare and maintain directory of suppliers, contractors, and vendors. Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing cost data. project schedules. Complete project bid quotes. Communicate with project engineers as well as architects to amend estimates as needed. Conduct assessment of cost effectiveness of various projects or phases of projects and track actual costs relative to bids as the projects develop. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore, AutoCAD, Excel and Bluebeam. PCI Certified Quality Control Technician/Inspector under the Quality Personnel Certification Programs Policy 28 Level I and II certificate. ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certificate. Travel to various unanticipated locations 5% of time throughout Florida. Must be bilingual English and Spanish, this position will work with 50% or more of our Spanish speaking only clients. $96,762.00 per year.Bachelors degree in Construction Management, or Civil Engineering or related, plus 24 months of experience in occupations involving Construction Cost Manager, Utility Project Manager, Engineering or related. Required knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore, AutoCAD, Excel and Bluebeam.
