The Clinical Pharmacist - Inpatient supports pharmacy operations at Medina Hospital, a community-based facility with a strong focus on orthopedic care and a highly engaged, collaborative team environment. This role functions primarily in an operational capacity, contributing to day-to-day pharmacy workflows including medication order verification, order entry, IV compounding oversight, and centralized staffing support. The department includes a mix of clinical pharmacists and specialists across ICU and Emergency Medicine, working together to provide comprehensive inpatient coverage. With one of the lowest turnover rates and highest engagement scores in the organization, this team offers a supportive, flexible environment where collaboration and shared responsibility are key to delivering high-quality patient care.
A caregiver in this position works days/evenings/nights/weekends from 7:00am -5:30pm or 1:00pm - 9:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services.
Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards.
Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences.
Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
PharmD or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days (for individuals required to administer immunizations)
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA). For caregivers required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest, this is required within one year of hire
Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or 2 years of relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience
Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a specialized pharmacy practice area (i.e. Critical Care, Oncology)

Physical Requirements :
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time.
Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
Must have normal or corrected vision.
Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
Personal Protective Equipment :
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00
