Hendrickson Tool Room Supervisor in MEDINA, New York
Job Description JOB SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates activities of production department in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To be effective, the person needs to have good communication and people skills in general. Directing and prioritizing work within the tool room, across a wide range of talents/personalities Many interactions required with engineering on the design/requirements of specialty parts/projects, die design, etc. Coordination required with production and maintenance to keep the plant running efficiently Machine repairs Projects Improvements The tool room supervisor also plays a critical role in keeping the press room running Prioritizing die repairs/rework required Ordering punches/die buttons/bushings, etc. Working with engineering on die drawings, modifications, etc. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages subordinate supervisors Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of his department Supervises all employees Hiring, interviewing and training of all employees Responsible for the ordering and maintaining supplies needed for all aspects of production QUALIFICATIONS: Business College Degree or equivalent; or minimum of five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to work with mathematical concepts Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Computer Technical Skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand continuously for 8 - 12 hours. Ability to work in tight places Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs Ability to lift up to 20 pounds repetitively. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively. Ability to stand, crouch and climb Ability to use ladders to perform various types of manual labor. Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills. Visual (with correction) sufficient to read blue prints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ear and eye protection required at all times in all production areas.
