Job Title: Safety RepresentativeJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Representative to join our team for a five-week contract. This role involves ensuring the safety of a construction project involving MEP, demolition, and the rebuilding of small rooms. The position requires shift work across two shifts, each working close to 50 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Lead efforts in the creation of Site Specific Safety Plans.
Coordinate with the project team to establish a safe working environment for all.
Conduct and coordinate all-hands site safety meetings on a monthly basis.
Attend all project foreman's meetings to address safety topics and concerns.
Act as a liaison between the client and the team on safety issues and concerns.
Issue and assist with safety permits such as Hot Work, LOTO, Trenching, and Confined Space.
Assist in planning all high-risk activities.
Review and sign off on crane pick plans, confined space entry plans, etc.
Conduct weekly site safety audits to ensure and document safe working conditions.
Ensure subcontractors follow procedures, regulations, and site-specific safety requirements.
Assist the Safety Manager as necessary.
Supervise subcontractor activities and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety documentation such as JHA’s, Method Statements, and training records.
Collect and record data and pertinent information.
Attend foreman coordination meetings to guide safe task performance and coordinate permits and processes.
Ensure PPE is stocked and ready for employees.
Ensure all safety equipment is purchased and available for tasks.
Stay updated on the latest industry rules, regulations, and standards.
Essential Skills
Safety expertise in construction environments.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety.
OSHA 30 certification.
Strong partnership approach to safety.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 500 certification.
CHST certification.
Experience working in data centers.
Own a laptop for work purposes.
Work Environment
The work environment is a dynamic construction setting requiring compliance with strict safety standards. The role involves shift work with two shifts working close to 50 hours per week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
