Job Title: Quality Control Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Control Inspector conducts detailed examinations and inspections of products, materials, components, and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure they meet established quality, reliability, and product requirements. This role uses precision measuring tools, visual inspection techniques, and documented procedures to identify issues, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous quality improvement.
Responsibilities
Conduct examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials, components, and parts at multiple stages of the production process to verify compliance with quality and reliability standards.
Perform in-process inspections on all types of standard and special products to ensure alignment with product specifications and requirements.
Use visual inspection methods and precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
Provide detailed analysis, troubleshooting, and evaluation of components, assemblies, and systems to identify quality issues and root causes.
Maintain accurate documentation, records, and data on tests and inspections performed in accordance with established procedures.
Recommend quality control solutions to complex problems and support the implementation of corrective actions.
Set up or build special test panels or fixtures to facilitate testing and evaluation as needed.
Perform internal audits based on established criteria, document findings, and record results in a clear and organized manner.
Follow detailed job instructions and quality procedures to ensure consistency and repeatability in inspection activities.
Independently identify and resolve routine quality issues, escalating more complex problems when necessary.
Use computer systems and software to enter data, generate reports, and access quality documentation.
Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational guidelines while working on the production floor.
Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance and be prepared to work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and additional hours as necessary.
Perform other related quality control duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Skills
Proven experience in inspection, quality inspection, and visual inspection within a manufacturing or production environment.
Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect defects and nonconformities.
Ability to follow detailed job instructions and established quality procedures accurately.
Capability to apply a systematic quality assurance approach using existing procedures to solve standard problems.
Skilled in measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job requirements.
Ability to identify and independently resolve routine quality issues.
Proficient computer skills for data entry, documentation, and report generation.
Understanding of quality control and quality assurance principles and practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and product specifications.
Reliability in maintaining regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience performing in-process inspections in a manufacturing setting.
Background in conducting internal quality audits based on established criteria.
Experience setting up or building special test panels or fixtures for testing and evaluation.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for evaluating components, assemblies, and systems.
Ability to recommend and support implementation of corrective actions for quality issues.
Comfort working with both standard and special products with varying requirements.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.40/hr.
