Job Summary and Qualifications
*Work schedule: Nights*
Performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act
Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
Plan, implement and direct care using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of the individual patient
Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding healthcare
Promote an environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion and culture
Maintain quality, age specific care for newborn, pediatric, adolescent and adult patients as assigned
Proactively advocate for patients and consistently education patients/families throughout the continuum of care
Delegate tasks to the appropriate level of staff
Provide supervision of new employees, vocational nurses, nurse assistants, student nurses, nurse externs/interns
What qualifications you will need:
2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Neonatal Resuscitation Program must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact state license
Bachelors Degree in Nursing
