SUMMARY:
This job operates in a professional, machining and warehouse environment. The use of safety glasses and hearing protection are required in specific areas of the facility.
MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Able to set-up fixturing, tooling, complete understanding of machine operation and programming of a minimum of one area of the following
- CNC Vertical/Horizontal mills
- Multi-axis lathes
- Screw Machines
- CNC grinders.
- Understanding and operation of Manual shop equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Operation of machine probes and touch-offs for tool and fixture offsets. Manual setting of offsets using indicators and edge finders.
- At machine part inspection, floor quality signoff for machinist level l and ll, blueprint reading and job traveler verification, documenting machining processes.
- Transfer jobs, programs, and set-ups between machines.
- Ability to participate with Engineering and Quality departments in their process/product improvement activities.
- Able to work overtime, Set-up and proof operations with a low impact or impedance to production hours.
- Understanding tool and fixture applications.
- Operator training prior to production run, Troubleshooting machine and tooling issues, Process/Program improvement of machine operations.
- Follows inspection plans.
- Fully understands use of inspection gages and measuring instruments to meet dimensional tolerance requirements.
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
