Recreation Coordinator - Seasonal: The City of McCall is seeking a qualified individual to fill a temporary Recreation Coordinator position in the Parks and Recreation Department. The primary function of the Recreation Coordinator is to maintain sports fields, set up for and officiate at designated games and competitions, and to assist the Recreation Supervisor as assigned. The principal duties of the position are performed in a public sports field environment.
The position requires knowledge of the rules, regulations, officiating techniques, and scorekeeping for designated sports; basic organizational and event supervisory skills; basic sports equipment maintenance and repair methods; sports field maintenance techniques; and dispute mediation and resolution. The position also requires the ability to follow written and oral instructions; follow safe work practices; operate lawn mowing, dragging, and sports field maintenance equipment; operate a motor vehicle; and communicate effectively with participants, spectators, coaches, other City employees, and the public.
The season is expected to begin at the end of May and end in mid-August, depending on weather conditions. The work schedule will include working weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Acceptable Experience and Training:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency; and
- One (1) years of experience in activities being officiated; OR
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of a Recreation Aid.
Special Qualifications: Applicants must have a valid drivers. A background investigation and a drivers license verification will be conducted.
