Job Summary and Qualifications

To supervise the Echo Lab personnel, coordinate daily job assignments, and call schedules and assumes responsibility for the technical, operational, and training activities of the Echo Lab in Rio Grande Regional Hospital

What you will do in this role:

  • Knows and understands the objectives, policies, and standards of the hospital and Echo Lab

  • Knows operating principles of the equipment and all safety aspects related to the equipment.

  • Responsible for personnel management.

  • Ensures accuracy of departmental charges.

  • Ensures appropriate delivery of Echocardiogram procedures.

  • Establishes work schedule, assigns daily work, assigns specific areas of

  • responsibility to staff, and assigns on-call coverage.

  • Able to assist with Echo procedures when volumes demand it or in the

  • absence of other ECHO lab personnel.

  • Responsible for determining and ensuring the competence and

  • qualifications of all Echo Lab personnel.

  • Maintains a good working relationship with the cardiologists.

  • Instrumental in working with Echo Lab Staff and Cardiology Director to

  • ensure employee and patient satisfaction annually.

  • Works towards obtaining Echo Lab accreditation.

  • Performs employee evaluations.

  • Attends annual mandatory in-services.

  • Accurate processing of all Echo Lab paperwork.

  • Provides training for new methods and procedures to all Echo Lab

  • personnel through in-service programs and maintains records of these programs.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

  • (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician

  • (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer
