We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for an opportunity in McAdoo, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can manage close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and partner with internal teams in a fast-paced industrial setting. The position offers the chance to contribute across financial reporting, reconciliations, cash management, and audit support while helping strengthen accounting processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the monthly close cycle by preparing, reviewing, and posting journal entries to ensure timely and accurate financial results.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to maintain complete and reliable financial records.

• Produce monthly financial statements along with detailed supporting schedules for management review.

• Handle recurring accounting activities such as bank reconciliations, accruals, fixed asset tracking, capital project accounting, and inventory-related entries.

• Support cost accounting activities tied to operations, including analysis of production costs and inventory valuation.

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by verifying transactions and resolving discrepancies promptly.

• Review accounts payable activity for accuracy and compliance with established internal controls and company procedures.

• Prepare cash flow projections and monitor liquidity to assist with financial planning.

• Develop audit-ready schedules and respond to external audit requests throughout the year.

• Assist with regulatory reporting, tax-related requirements, and accounting system enhancements, including work involving Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within mining, manufacturing, industrial, or other inventory-driven environments.

• Demonstrated expertise in month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

• Experience partnering with external auditors and preparing documentation to support audit processes.

• Strong understanding of cost accounting and financial operations in businesses with inventory.

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail in a hands-on role.

• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Power Query, Power BI, or Power Pivot is a plus.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and credentials such as CPA or CMA are advantageous.
