Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Charlotte, NC Onsite 4 days a week
Job Description:
The Next Generation Point of Sale (NGPOS) Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of the NGPOS project across a large and complex retail environment. This role oversees cross-functional planning, drives the execution of multiple program workstreams, manages stakeholders at all levels, and ensures the program delivers measurable business value.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at influencing without direct authority. They bring proven experience managing large-scale retail or technology transformation programs and are adept at coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver initiatives on time and within scope.
What You’ll Do
Program & Project Planning
Establish, maintain, and update detailed project and program plans, integrating actuals and forecasts.
Manage deviations from plans, proactively adjusting timelines, resources, and budgets as necessary.
Create, track, and maintain schedules, budgets, dependencies, risks, and issues across multiple workstreams.
Delivery & Execution
Ensure all program and project requirements and objectives are fully documented, communicated, and delivered.
Drive delivery within agreed time, scope, and cost tolerances.
Coordinate complex planning activities and optimize the use of human and material resources.
Provide seamless integration of program outcomes with ongoing business operations.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Provide strong leadership for workstream leaders, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Facilitate effective communication at program, executive, and operational levels.
Apply conflict resolution techniques to navigate program challenges and maintain forward momentum.
Work collaboratively with peers to define goals, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
Risk, Issue & Change Management
Identify, assess, and manage program and project risks; develop mitigation strategies andcontingency plans.
Escalate unresolved issues and critical decisions as appropriate.
Maintain continuous alignment of project/program scope with strategic business objectives.
Recommend modifications to enhance project effectiveness and ensure alignment with strategic intent.
Business Value & Benefits Realization
Focus on achieving defined business outcomes and the benefits tied to the NGPOS initiative.
Track contributions of individual projects toward overall organizational goals.
Ensure the long-term success and adoption of delivered solutions across the retail environment.
What You Bring
Experience and Expertise
7+ years of project or program management experience in supply chain technology.
Proven hands-on implementation experience with POS, Pricing and Accounting systems.
Deep understanding of grocery retail supply chain operations (store, DC, transportation).
Experience managing complex system integrations (POS, ERP, OMS, TMS, inventory).
Experience leading large, multi-site, enterprise-scale deployments.
Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in hybrid on-prem and cloud infrastructure environments.
Advanced stakeholder management; skilled at vendor and carrier orchestration.. Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence, as well as reporting and dashboarding tools like Power BI and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-volume retail grocery or food distribution environments.
Familiarity with automation, robotics, or material handling system integrations.
PMP or similar certification.
POS, Pricing, Accounting experience preferred
