Melton Truck Lines Trailer Technician in Masury, Ohio
Description
Summary: The Trailer Technician performs heavy-duty trailer repair work according to Melton standards and Department of Transportation regulations.
The shift for this position is Monday-Friday 7am to 4pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties as assigned.
Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on Melton's fleet of flatbed trailers.
Responsible for frame repair, brake replacement, suspension work, minor electrical work, and trailer deck repair.
Complete paperwork as required to accurately document the work performed on vehicles.
Safely move trailers in and out of the shop and around the yard.
Performs trouble shooting on major problems.
Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
Advises the Leadman/Shop Foreman if additional repair work is needed.
Follows safety practices and shop regulations.
Qualifications
One year heavy truck or trailer repair experience or equivalent schooling.
Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
Welding experience.
CDL preferred

Hearing
Ability to work alone and under stress.
Walking, bending, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, twisting and reaching.
Lifting 75 pounds or more, sometimes shoulder height and above.
Ability to use pneumatic tools.
Using hands, wrists, elbows and shoulder for repetitive motion tasks.
Ability to work in seasonal heat and cold; amidst noise and dust.
