Job Summary
The Die Setter is responsible for preparing, setting, and maintaining dies used in production press lines. This role works closely with tooling and production teams to ensure dies are properly installed, cleaned, and maintained to support efficient operations and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, set, and remove dies on press bolsters in coordination with tooling and production teams.
Clean dies in the press and after production runs to maintain proper operation.
Transport dies to the tooling area for maintenance or repair and assist with opening dies as needed.
Perform minor repairs such as fixing grippers and assisting with die maintenance.
Record daily work activity and completed work orders in SAP.
Ensure all work orders are completed accurately and required checks are performed.
Communicate with team leaders and supervisors to understand daily priorities and production schedules.
Escalate equipment or tooling concerns to leads or supervisors when necessary.
Follow standard work procedures and complete die setter checklists.
Participate in daily team meetings and support department improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements.
Operate cranes, hi-los, die carts, and other equipment used for die handling and setup.
Support quality and environmental standards, including IATF and ISO compliance requirements.
Assist with training and participate in learning opportunities to expand technical skills.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience setting dies or working with stamping equipment preferred.
Experience operating cranes and hi-lo equipment preferred.
Basic computer proficiency; experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus.
Skills
Ability to adapt quickly to schedule changes and production needs.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to work overtime or different shifts as required.
Knowledge of die setting procedures and precision handling equipment.
Ability to safely operate cranes, hi-los, die carts, and related equipment.
Compensation & Benefits
Base pay ranges from $20–$26 per hour with overtime paid at 1.5x for hours worked over 40. Weekly earnings typically range from $1,127.50–$1,485.00 before overtime. Employees are eligible for up to two performance or merit-based pay increases each year (January and July). The benefits package includes 12 paid holidays and 2 weeks of PTO during the first year. Medical, dental, and vision coverage begin on Day 1 of employment and include Blue Cross Blue Shield medical, Delta Dental, and EyeMed Vision. Additional benefits include HSA and FSA options, life and disability insurance, wellbeing and employee assistance programs, and a 401(k) plan with company match up to 4%.
Pay Details: $20.00 to $26.00 per hour
