Trinity Health Occupational Therapist Inpatient Full-Time in Mason City, Iowa

Description:

Inpatient Occupational Therapists provide rehabilitation services to patients in hospital setting who are recovering from surgery, injury, or acute medical conditions. They focus on restoring patient’s ability to perform essential daily activities such as grooming, dressing, and feeding. Interventions are tailored to improve functional independence and safety awareness with the goal of facilitating a safe and efficient discharge.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Evaluates patients to obtain and interpret data necessary for treatment planning and implementation

Develops treatment plans, directs, supervises and treats patients in accordance with treatment plan using treatment modalities

Prepares written report of diagnostic findings, intervention techniques used, progress made and follow-up status in a time frame according to policy and procedure.

Consults and communicates with patient, family and other multi-disciplinary team members and contracted agencies.

Assist multidisciplinary team with discharge planning and established home therapy programs.

Completes required documentation on patients and maintains other department records in accordance with departmental and health center policies and procedures

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: B.S., B.A., M.O.T., M.S., or M.A. degree in Occupational Therapy required

Licensed Occupational Therapist, Registered in the State of Iowa required.

Experience: Prefer demonstrated competence in an acute care setting for at least one year.
