Scotts Miracle-Gro Solution Architect, B2B Platform in Marysville, Ohio

Here at Scotts Miracle-Gro there is no such thing as a typical day. Our culture is constantly energized by new and exciting growth opportunities and at a rapid pace. Below are details on an open job. If the role interests you and you would like to be considered we encourage you to apply! Company Overview At Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, we are committed to enriching the lives of our customers by providing innovative products and solutions that help them achieve beautiful, healthy lawns and gardens. Our Business Transformation team plays a crucial role in this mission by developing and maintaining cutting-edge technology solutions to support our business operations and enhance customer experiences. The Role We are looking for a Solution Architect to own the technical direction of our Salesforce B2B ecosystem: Consumer Goods Cloud, Trade Promotion Management (TPM), and their integrations with ERP systems (SAP) and middleware. You will sit between our Product Owners and our engineering teams, ensuring that business intent is technically sound before code starts. You will be embedded in the B2B domain, owning the technical backlog across sprints, participating in sprint ceremonies, and shaping how our platform scales for field sales and trade teams. You are here to build a sustainable platform alongside the teams that deliver it. This is one of the most technically demanding domains in our ecosystem. You will navigate high-volume data synchronization between Consumer Goods Cloud and SAP, complex offline-first mobile architectures for field teams operating with intermittent connectivity, and trade promotion logic that spans multiple systems. If you find that interesting rather than intimidating, keep reading. What You Will Do Assess the technical feasibility of proposed B2B features (Retail Execution workflows, TPM planning, field visit scheduling) before they reach the engineering backlog. You validate technical constraints around data volume, offline mobile sync, and governor limits so the team is never surprised mid-sprint. Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specifications that engineering teams can execute on efficiently. You are the bridge between what the business needs and how it should be built. Own the technical roadmap for the B2B domain, ensuring that platform upgrades, mobile performance, and technical health initiatives are prioritized alongside business features. Get hands-on in sandboxes to run rapid Proofs of Concept for complex problems: custom pricing logic, visit scheduling, data sync patterns. You experiment and validate before the team commits engineering resources. Define non-functional requirements for offline reliability, data synchronization speed, and security. These are not afterthoughts. They are the foundation of a platform that field teams depend on every day. Proactively identify technical debt in legacy configurations and complex data models. You create plans to resolve it and advocate for platform health within the roadmap. Spend time in the field with our Sales teams. Walk stores with them. Understand how they use the tools you design in their actual environment, with real connectivity challenges and real time pressure. The best solutions come from architects who understand the day-to-day reality of the people using the platform. Expect to get out from behind the desk regularly. How You Work You lead through influence, not authority. Some of our development teams are highly autonomous and need broad architectural direction. Others benefit from more detailed guidance. You read the room and calibrate, knowing when to step in and enforce standards to protect the platform, and when to step back and let the engineering team own an approach. You bring genuine technical depth. You can open a sandbox and prototype a solu Apply here: https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=
