Marysville manufacturing facility hiring R&D Packaging Technician to join their growing team!
Pay rate is $18.00 per hour!
Monday- Friday 8am to 4:30pm with possible overtime when needed.
Job Summary
The R&D Packaging Technician is responsible for safely and efficiently packaging automotive components for international shipment. This role supports the development, testing, and documentation of packaging solutions to ensure parts arrive in pristine condition. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely package automotive parts using appropriate materials, methods, and instructions to meet international shipping requirements.
• Measure and record pallet, crate, and box dimensions and weights using a tape measure and digital scale.
• Assist in constructing, modifying, or preparing pallets, crates, and foam inserts using basic woodworking skills.
• Use tools---such as box cutters, tape guns, and power tools---safely, properly, and efficiently.
• Track packaged components, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure all accounting and traceability paperwork is completed.
• Perform quality checks to verify packaging consistency and adherence to R&D and QC standards.
• Operate or support forklift operations when trained and comfortable (experience preferred but not required).
• Input data, maintain digital records, and perform basic computer tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to process improvements within the packaging and R&D workflow.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Ability to read tape measures and digital scale accurately.
• Basic woodworking capability and comfort working with materials like wood and foam.
• Experience using hand tools and basic power tools safely.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Quality control mindset with the ability to identify and address inconsistencies.
• Basic computer literacy for documentation and data entry.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and business professionalism.
