Here at Scotts Miracle-Gro there is no such thing as a typical day. Our culture is constantly energized by new and exciting growth opportunities and at a rapid pace. Below are details on an open job. If the role interests you and you would like to be considered we encourage you to apply!

At Scotts Miracle-Gro, there's no such thing as a "typical day." We move fast, we value grit, and we've been obsessed with providing lawn and garden solutions to consumers for over 150 years. Regardless of your level in the organization there is a platform for your voice to be heard and the ability to influence change. Family, community and hard working values are weaved into all that we do. We're looking for an Assistant Business Development Manager, eCommerce - Amazon who thrives in the deep end of data and knows how to win on Amazon. If you're a builder who wants a platform to influence change and nurture the next generation of CPG leadership, come grow with us.

About the role:

You will be the architect of growth for our Amazon business. This isn't just "managing a channel"-it's leading the day-to-day sales engine, optimizing massive product catalogs, and turning complex data into revenue-generating strategies. This is a highly visible, customer facing role that sits at the intersection of sales, analytics, operations, and digital shelf excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Amazon Engine: Own the daily execution of sales and marketing tasks. You'll lead weekly sales meetings with Amazon Vendor Managers to improve primary KPIs: Traffic, Conversion, and POS Revenue.

  • Master the Analytics: Dig into large datasets to perform SKU rationalization, competitive assessments, and GMROI/Margin analysis. This includes deep competitive analysis. You won't just report numbers; you'll draw conclusions that shift our strategy.

  • Inventory & Forecasting: Perform "triangulation analysis" between POS data, retailer inventory, and replenishment forecasts to ensure we're never out of stock during peak gardening seasons.

  • Project Management: Lead "Ready for Season" tasks, including new product launches (NPI), item transitions, and catalog audits. Leading collaboration with internal cross functional teams.

  • Digital Marketing ROI: Analyze the performance of marketing campaigns and promotions. You'll use digital metrics to decide what stays, what goes, and where we double down.

  • Innovation: Think "outside the box" to develop eCommerce-specific product and packaging concepts and partner with content teams to dominate the digital shelf.

What we are looking for:

  • A Data Native: You have a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Statistics, Data Engineering, Finance, or similar).

  • Technically Fluent: You're a pro with Amazon Vendor Central and comfortable with tools like SQL, Tableau, or Python/R for ETL automation and data modeling. Experience leveraging AI for automation and insights. Experience with external Amazon tools a plus (Detail Page, Profitero, Stackline, CommerceIQ, Skai, Helium 10, etc.).

  • Experienced: You've spent time in eCommerce, Digital Sales, or Analytics within a retail or CPG environment. You understand pricing econometrics and A/B testing.

  • Grit-Driven: You are highly motivated to apply high-grade quantitative skills to fast-paced, evolving business challenges requiring agility.

  • A Strong Communicator: You can translate "data-speak" into actionable insights for Brand Marketing and executive leadership.
