What You'll Do Work to ensure all steel is manufactured toCMCspecifications and safely in a timely manner Visually inspect furnace for problems (water leaks, refractory wear, etc) To ensure slag foaming is appropriate Adjust flux additions based on slag analysis to optimize slag chemistry Work with personnel in the operation, monitoring, and performance of all melt shop equipment (caster, furnace, cranes, ladle furnace, etc.) Communicate with fellow workers and supervisors about possible production issues, concerns, and needs Trouble shoots work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others (pulpit operator, process manager, maintenance personnel, etc) Responsible for controlling and replenishing the inventory of consumables needed on the operations floor Assist maintenance personnel when requested/needed Actively participate and assist in leading team with CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture (Take 2, Observation Cards and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Promote safe work environments through example; good housekeeping & effective safety meetings Leading effective crew meetings at start of shift.
