Job description: Assist with crop production and cattle production, Operate many different types of equipment. Feed and work cattle
Oversee planting, crop scouting, pesticide and fertilizer application, and harvesting.
Assist with grain storage.
Coordinate use of field equipment including planters, tractors, harvest and seed cleaning equipment.
Utilize advanced mechanical skills to service and repair equipment.
Operate and maintain tractors, planters, combine, sprayer, grain cart, hay cutter and hay baler
Operate Greenstar monitors as well as other in cab technologies
Operate a semi-truck hauling grain or water.
General equipment operations such as mowing roadsides, liquid fertilizer application, front end loader work, minor earth moving, hay cutter and baler.
Operate and maintain our grain bins
Maintain records such as equipment services and crop applications.
Perform miscellaneous dirty jobs such as scooping grain and cleaning equipment (some of these jobs can be strenuous, applicant must be physically able to perform hard work)
Participate in professional development training with an outside company
Feed and check cattle
Doctor cattle Operate semi-truck on the farm only. Service tractor engines by changing oil periodically. 1. Equipment Service and Repair: Routine minor servicing and maintenance to keep in operation tractors, planters, combine, sprayer, grain cart, hay cutter and hay baler 2. Doctoring Cattle: During the slow winter season attend to cattle, assist with administering medication if needed 3. Liquid Fertilizer Application: Drive the liquid fertilizer sprayer when needed as part of general crop management 4. Minor Earth Moving: Will maintain terraces (using hand tools, or bulldozer) to facilitate water draining as part of the overall crop management Job Requirements:
High School Diploma
24 months experience of farming with advanced mechanical skills
Possess a Valid drivers license and be able to pass a DOT physical, drug test, etc.
Will require daily travel to fields within 20-mile radius
The ability to ride and rope on a horse
