Landscaping By J. Michael is looking for a skilled and passionate Gardener / Horticulturalist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is results-driven, takes pride in quality landscape care, and is excited to contribute to the continued growth of our horticultural department.

What This Role Looks Like

In this role, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day horticultural operations while leading a small crew and ensuring high-quality maintenance across residential and commercial properties.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Planning and scheduling daily operations for the horticultural department

  • Applying best practices in pruning, fertilization, and disease/pest management

  • Maintaining and enhancing residential and commercial landscape beds

  • Leading and supervising a crew of up to 2 team members

  • Handling documentation including paperwork, photos, client recommendations, and scheduling site visits

  • Conducting client estimates and supporting sales efforts

  • Assisting the broader landscape department when needed

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with strong horticultural knowledge, leadership ability, and a hands-on approach to quality landscape care.

  • 5+ years of experience in landscape maintenance, horticulture, or a related field

  • Strong pruning skills and experience with garden bed maintenance

  • Solid knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs

  • Experience with both organic and chemical treatments for pests, disease, and fungus control

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • DOT Health Card required or ability to obtain

  • Pesticide license and/or MCLP license is a plus
