We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on Shop Equipment Mechanic / Fleet & Small Engine Technician to join our team and take ownership of the maintenance and repair of our growing fleet of equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a key role in keeping our operations moving. You’ll work in the shop and occasionally in the field to ensure all equipment and vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for daily use.
Your responsibilities will include:
Handling day-to-day maintenance and repair operations in the shop
Repairing and maintaining small engine equipment such as commercial mowers, chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, and similar tools
Servicing and repairing light construction equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, electric and hydraulic sanders, and more
Performing preventative maintenance on company vehicles, including basic body work and painting when needed
Maintaining specialized equipment such as mini excavators, track machines, Ditch Witch SK900, hydro-seeders, sanders, and Fisher snow plows
Loading and receiving materials and helping track inventory
Making occasional deliveries to client job sites as needed
Ensuring all equipment is properly maintained, documented, and ready for field use
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is mechanically strong, reliable, and confident diagnosing and repairing a wide range of equipment.
Minimum 5 years of experience working with gasoline and diesel engines
Strong background in small engine repair and maintenance
Certifications from STIHL, Kohler, Wright Stander, Briggs & Stratton (B&S) are a plus
Proven ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work well with team members
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active on your feet throughout the workday
Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus)
MA Hoisting License preferred
Basic computer and tech skills are a plus for tracking maintenance and inventory
