Eaton’s IS VEH EMB Automotive Mobility division is currently seeking a Lab Test Technician.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $ 70,000 a year.

What you’ll do:
Eaton’s Electrification Test Lab is currently seeking a lab technician to join our team. This position is based at our Marshall, Michigan facility.
The Lab Technician supports product development and validation activities within the Electrification Laboratory by assisting with the assembly, setup, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic prototypes, cable harnesses, and EV-related components. This role works under the guidance of engineers and senior lab personnel to execute test procedures, collect and document data, maintain lab equipment and work areas, and support safe, organized, and efficient lab operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in the assembly, setup, and testing of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical prototypes, subassemblies, and related lab hardware.
Support execution of laboratory tests and experiments by following established procedures, work instructions, and engineering direction.
Operate standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and function generators to support testing and troubleshooting activities.
Assist with instrumentation, wiring, cable harness preparation, and basic data acquisition setup for development and validation testing.
Record test data, observations, and results accurately and support preparation of technical summaries, reports, and presentations.
Perform routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and calibration checks on lab equipment and instruments.
Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of tools, materials, samples, and equipment in accordance with lab procedures and 5S expectations.
Follow all applicable safety, EHS, quality, and laboratory operating procedures to support a safe and compliant work environment.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• High School degree with Minimum of 2 years of experience in an automotive, electrical, mechanical, testing, or engineering environment
• Previous test engineering experience supporting an engineering, research, or manufacturing organization
• Basic understanding of electronic principles, components, circuits, and test methods.
• Hands-on experience with standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, or similar tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree or technical certificate in Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
• Familiarity with soldering, cable harness assembly, connector pinning, crimping, and circuit board assembly techniques.
• Experience supporting test setup, instrumentation, or data collection activities in an engineering lab.
• Exposure to prototype builds, bench testing, or troubleshooting of electrical or electronic hardware.
• Experience working with EV components, low-voltage electrical systems, or related product development hardware.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a hands-on laboratory environment.
