Job Description:
The Manager, Trust Administration Services manages all aspects of the administration of fiduciary trust accounts. Manages assigned resources for optimal efficiency, productivity and client service. Manages select, significant and sensitive accounts personally. Manages team of 10 - 15 Trust Advisors.
Depth & Scope:
Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
Contributes to the financial results of the organization by leading, coaching and developing Employees to identify and maximize all opportunities for sales and retention
Manages own book of fiduciary accounts to maximize profitability, client satisfaction and retention
Provides a high level of service, communication and advice to trust beneficiaries
Ensures timely and accurate trust administration in accordance with terms of document
Manages expanded use of technology to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency
Evaluates systems capabilities and requirements meet current and anticipated business needs
Identifies additional client needs and makes referrals to business partners as appropriate
Maintains a high level of professional expertise as Trust Administration subject matter expert
Responsible for assisting sales team in meeting fiduciary sales, retention and profitability goals and managing, monitoring and minimizing risk
Future focused, foresees gaps, trends and negotiates/influences direction across Wealth Management Trust Group
Maintains high performance standards - Coaches and demands excellence of self and others
Provides specialized expertise and serves as resource to team and other Wealth partners on trust administration procedural and risk issues
Ensures effective compliance with all job-relevant State and Federal regulations, including, but not limited to Employee policies, procedures, CRA EEO/ AA, as well as all job relevant Risk Management and Corporate standards
Ensures TD Bank maintains successful audits and exams within all areas
Manages vendor relationships that support the business; proactively identifies, monitors, and manages risk issues, escalating as necessary to minimize risk of loss/error
Raises the profile of TD Wealth Management through community involvement
Models company culture both internally and externally
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
10+ Years related experience required
Management experience and leadership skills, with ability to motivate team members effectively
Ability to negotiate, manage relationships and influence across Business Lines
Challenges the "way things are done" and drives change by being a "change agent"
Systematic, integrated thinker and critical/analytical thinker
Enterprise Business acumen - has business and Wealth Management credibility
In-depth knowledge of trust administration, fiduciary law, and the probate process
Excellent business development and relationship management skills, including the ability to partner with sales team to provide fiduciary expertise
Strong execution skills and action oriented – makes the tough people and business decisions
Organizational skills and ability to ensure staff adherence to policies and procedures
Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written
