Onsite | Monday–Friday

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the integration, remediation, and refinement of implantable medical device technologies in a highly regulated environment. This onsite, lab‑based role plays a critical part in ensuring electrical designs meet design control, risk management, and regulatory requirements, while supporting the seamless integration of acquired technologies into existing product platforms.

This position offers hands‑on technical work on complex, novel implantable systems, close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and external partners, and direct impact on advanced medical technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify gaps between acquired company practices and existing Work Instructions (WIs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and define clear strategies to remediate and align processes.

  • Provide technical input to project goals, timelines, and execution plans, recommending adjustments to maintain progress and quality.

  • Communicate technical progress, risks, trade‑offs, and recommendations to project and engineering leadership.

  • Execute complex or novel engineering assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques, methods, or procedures.

  • Perform electrical design remediation and product design refinement for implantable medical devices.

  • Prepare detailed engineering specifications, perform test method validation, and generate accurate technical reports.

  • Assess feasibility and soundness of alternative designs, processes, or equipment and provide data‑driven recommendations.

  • Support design hazard analyses and FMEA activities, ensuring compliance with design control and risk management SOPs.

  • Produce clear, concise engineering documentation to support effective knowledge transfer and product integration.

  • Collaborate with external partners and suppliers on component specifications, qualification, testing protocols, and quality standards.

  • Perform electrical and system‑level testing of implantable medical devices and interpret results to guide design decisions.

  • Conduct hands‑on electronics troubleshooting across analog, digital, RF, and system‑level designs.

  • Support design verification and design acceptance testing in accordance with applicable medical device standards.

  • Travel up to approximately 10%, primarily to local sites, to support suppliers and project activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years with a Master’s degree

  • Proven experience working with medical devices, including implantable medical devices and related testing

  • Strong background in electrical and/or systems design documentation within regulated environments

  • Demonstrated experience performing electrical testing of medical devices or high‑reliability systems

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize inputs from multiple technical sources

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and exceptional attention to detail

  • Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Sound technical judgment and decision‑making ability

  • Strong collaboration skills across cross‑functional teams and external partners

  • Demonstrated critical‑thinking applied to complex engineering challenges

  • High level of personal accountability and bias for action

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship

Preferred / Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with RF design and testing for medical or high‑reliability electronic systems

  • Hands‑on board‑level and system‑level electronics troubleshooting

  • Experience with design verification and design acceptance testing

  • Familiarity with IEC standards for:

  • Active implantable medical devices

  • Electrical medical equipment

  • Experience designing and implementing test fixtures for electrical or system‑level testing

  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design for medical or mission‑critical applications

  • Proficiency with LTspice or equivalent simulation tools

  • Experience using Altium for schematic capture and PCB design

  • Strong relationship‑building skills with internal teams and external suppliers

  • Interest in contributing to innovative, next‑generation medical technologies

Work Environment

This is a full‑time, onsite role in a lab‑based engineering environment, Monday through Friday. The role is highly hands‑on, involving direct interaction with implantable medical devices, test fixtures, and electronic test equipment. Engineers will regularly use tools such as LTspice and Altium for simulation and PCB design.

The work environment emphasizes safety, precision, quality, and strict regulatory compliance, with close collaboration across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and external partners. Occasional travel (approximately 10%, primarily local) may be required.
