GE Vernova Advanced Nuclear Lead Project Manager in Markham, Ontario
Job Description Summary
The Advanced Nuclear Lead Project Manager will focus on deployment and execution projects related to GE Vernova’s small modular reactors (SMR). This role will report to the Project Management Leader, while supporting the respective Project Director and Project Managers in planning and executing contracts for the design and construction of SMRs around the world; including managing the quality, cost and schedule of the execution process.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Assist Project Manager in organizing project cost structure in Oracle ERP
Participate in customer, internal, and/or supplier project kickoff meetings and support the Project Director with preparation & coordination of customer, internal, and/or supplier kickoff meetings
Monitor project budgets and schedules and raise issues to the Project Manager and Project Director
Monitor task and coordinate with functional support teams to resolve issues
Monitor project trends and work with functional support organizations to correct adverse trends on the project
Develop and maintain a project roster including assigning and monitoring timely completion of project related training activities
Develop and issue the Project Management Plan and related project plans and project procedures; facilitate the implementation of project plans and project procedures across the larger project team
Project administration and configuration management of project documentation to assist the Project Manager
Support the development and deployment of project infrastructure and project tools
Support coordination of project activities; monitor and control progress on project deliverables
Ensure the conformance of project deliverables with contract and project requirements
Organize and archive project correspondence and records consistent with Project Configuration Management Plan
Lead, draft, and issue project management meeting notes, action item lists, and project progress reports
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 2 years experience as a project manager
OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of experience working on projects
Proven professional experience in project management, engineering or business
Eligibility Requirements
The preferred work location for this role is at the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GVH) location in Markham, ON, Canada. For U.S. based candidates the work location for this role is at GVH headquarters in Wilmington, NC. (Relocation assistance provided)
This role requires access to U..S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. government.
Desired Characteristics
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or STEM
Nuclear power experience in operations or engineering
Proficient with project management software tools (Primavera, MS Project, etc)
Fundamental-level financial or accounting knowledge
Experience or familiarity with Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) designs
Knowledge of the power industry, customer, and competitive environment
Financial control knowledge and understanding
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Demonstrated organizational skills, particularly when related to project execution

For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $95,000 and $135,000 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
