Mt. Rogers ASAP Case Manager in Marion, Virginia

Mount Rogers ASAP is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Case Manager to supervise and support individuals enrolled in the Alcohol Safety Action Program. This position works closely with the courts, probation, and community partners to ensure compliance with court-ordered requirements related to DUI and other substance-related offenses.

The Case Manager plays a critical role in monitoring participant progress, coordinating services, and promoting behavioral change to enhance public safety.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in criminal justice, psychology, social work or related field or experience in case management. Must be able to clearly communicate with diverse audiences, be experienced in computer operations, data entry, document preparation and problem solving. Responsible for conducting interviews, analyze data and have some knowledge of court operations, procedures and laws pertaining to substance abuse and drinking drivers and knowledge of the concepts of case management.

Position will be responsible for the screening, management, monitoring, answering phone and providing general office support and supervision of program participants . Prepare court reports and other documents related to monitoring participants and testifying in court hearings. Responsible for evaluating all aspects of program participation and progress towards completion of program requirements. Candidate must be willing to learn and be cross trained in all aspects of program. Other duties that may be assigned by the Director.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct intake assessments, assign treatment or education methods, and administer alcohol and drug screenings.

  • Develop and manage individualized case plans in accordance with court orders
  • Track and Monitor participant compliance with program requirements (education, treatment, ignition interlock requirements, etc.)
  • Maintain regular contact with participants to track progress and provide support
  • Document all case activity accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain detailed case files, prepare reports and provide updates to courts, attorneys, and probation officers, including testifying in court when necessary.
  • Coordinate referrals to treatment providers and community resources
  • Enforce program policies and address non-compliance appropriately

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Criminal Justice, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Must be able to clearly communicate with diverse audiences, be knowledgeable of court operations, procedures and laws pertaining to drinking and driving, and knowledge of the concepts of case management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse population, including court-involved individuals
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients, court personnel, and external partners.
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems and documentation
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel between facilities, courts, and conferences as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in case management, probation, or substance use services

Experience in law enforcement, counseling, or related services in alcohol and drug abuse, or driver safety functions.

  • Knowledge of DUI laws, court processes, or ASAP programs in Virginia
  • Experience working with court-ordered populations

Work Environment

  • Office-based with frequent interaction with participants
  • Regular communication with court officials and community partners
  • May involve some travel within the service area and annual conference

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
