The following position is opening in the Elgin Local Schools for the 2026-2027 School Year:
Position: Math Specialist Teacher K-12
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree- While a degree in mathematics or math education is preferred, a degree in another field is acceptable if accompanied by required math content credits.
- Proper Certification/Licensure
- Previous Tutoring or Classroom Experience
- BCI/FBI Clearance
Essential Functions:
- Provide targeted small-group and individualized math instruction to support students performing below grade level across K-12.
- Analyze screening and progress-monitoring data to develop, implement, and adjust math intervention and monitoring plans.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction and reinforce core math concepts.
- Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions with an MTSS framework to accelerate student achievement.
- Monitor and document student growth, communicating progress with teachers, families, and support teams.
Salary: To be determined based on experience and the Board-adopted salary schedule
Contract: 183 Days
