Job Summary and Qualifications
The Medical Staff Coordinator has primary responsibility for coordination and analysis of all data collected in support of Medical Staff and Allied Health Professional (AHP) applications for membership and clinical privileges for the hospitals’ medical staff and other system or contracted provider organizations. The Coordinator is responsible for establishing the agendas, providing notifications, taking meeting minutes, and guiding committee functions to ensure compliance with Mission Health System Medical Staff policies, Medical Staff Bylaws and accreditation standards. Responsible for meeting significant appointment and reappointment deadlines established by regulatory agencies. Provides teaching and guidance to Physician Service Line Leaders and Credentials Reviewers and Chair of the Credentials Committee on privileging and credentialing matters and ensures that their task s are completely and comprehensively within proscribed timeframes. Acts as a resource for Medical Staff members, other hospital departments and external sources on Medical Staff related matters.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Required Education: High School graduate. Comparable experience and skills also considered.
Preferred Education: Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM). Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Associate Degree in Medical Staff Service
Required Experience: Two years experience in credentialing with acute care setting. Knowledge of office equipment and systems and word processing skills.
Preferred Experience: Three years working as Medical Staff Services Professional. Previous experience with JCAHO surveys.
