Sales Support Specialist -- Ecommerce
Pay: $14.00--$20.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time | Monday--Friday, 7am--4pm
Job description:
American Producers Supply is looking for someone with strong customer service, administrative, or inside sales experience who enjoys helping customers and working with orders. You do not need ecommerce experience --- we will train you. If you've worked in an office, retail, shipping/receiving, or any role where you communicate with customers and handle details, you'll fit right in. This is not a technical or marketing role --- it's an office-based customer service and order support position.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for entering and managing customer orders that come across various marketplaces into our system. As you learn the role, you'll also help maintain product information and listings on our online marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, and others). No prior experience is needed --- we teach you everything step-by-step. You will also answer customer questions by phone and email and help resolve shipping or product issues. This position reports directly to the Ecommerce Manager.
American Producers Supply specializes in construction, industrial, oil & gas, and safety supplies, including major brands such as DeWalt, Milwaukee, 3M, and Stanley. We have 16 locations throughout the Midwest.
This would be a great job for someone with the following experience or qualifications
-Customer service experience (retail, office, call center, hospitality, etc).
-Inside sales or counter sales experience
-Shipping/receiving or claims experience
-Administrative or clerical experience
-Comfortable using a computer and learning new systems
-Strong attention to detail
What You'll Do:
-Enter and manage customer orders in our system.
-Update product information in our catalog. (may occasionally involve checking items in the warehouse)
-Help customers by phone and email with product questions, orders, and issues.
-Assist with returns, shipping issues, and basic claims
-Work closely with our sales and warehouse teams to ensure smooth order flow
-Provide friendly, accurate customer service every day
-Other duties, as necessary.
No ecommerce experience is required -- we provide full training
Preferred experience, but not required:
-Experience with eCommerce Marketplaces (Amazon, Ebay)
-Experience in Construction or Industrial supplies
-Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word
A typical day might include:
-Entering orders that come in by phone or online
-Checking shipping status for a customer
-Updating a product description
-Helping resolve a return or damaged shipment
-Answering customer questions
-Coordinating with the warehouse on an order
Must be drug free and pass a criminal background check
