Manpower is seeking a skilled Logistics Manager to support a major manufacturing operation. This role oversees the full logistics lifecycle—ensuring efficient inbound raw materials, accurate outbound shipments, optimized inventory control, and seamless warehouse operations. If you are a hands-on, analytical leader with strong experience in plant logistics, this is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a high-impact function.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supply Chain & Materials Management
Manage inbound raw materials—including ores, coke, anthracite, silicon sources, and consumables.
Coordinate outbound shipments of finished goods, by-products, and materials to customers and warehouses.
Ensure uninterrupted material availability to support production schedules.
Partner with procurement, production, and sales to align logistics with demand forecasts.
Transportation & Distribution
Manage and maintain relationships with transportation carriers and logistics service providers.
Negotiate freight contracts, rates, and service agreements to optimize cost and service performance.
Oversee domestic and international shipping, including export documentation.
Monitor delivery performance and resolve transportation disruptions or delays.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
Oversee inventory accuracy, storage processes, and raw/finished materials control.
Implement strategies to optimize working capital while avoiding production shortages.
Manage material handling equipment and warehouse space allocation.
Ensure labeling, segregation, and traceability meet quality and safety standards.
Compliance, Safety & Quality
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, logistics, and material‑handling regulations.
Enforce safe practices for handling heavy, hot, or hazardous materials.
Support logistics, customs, and transportation audits or inspections.
Maintain accurate operational documentation, including inventory and sales reports and forecasts.
Participate in ICG6 activities.
Process Improvement & Cost Control
Track logistics KPIs including costs, lead times, delivery performance, and inventory turnover.
Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and efficiency gains.
Implement best practices in transportation, warehouse management, and logistics planning.
Contribute to budgeting, cost control initiatives, and capital investment planning.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop logistics supervisors and operators.
Establish performance expectations and training plans.
Promote a culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with maintenance, production, quality, and HR teams.
What You Bring
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
5+ years of logistics or supply chain experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proven experience managing logistics operations, transportation contracts, and plant‑level teams.
Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, and inventory management best practices.
SAP experience required.
Understanding of international shipping, customs, and export regulations.
Strong analytical abilities with experience interpreting KPIs and financial data.
Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
Safety‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
