Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for using work instructions and hand tools to build industrial sweeping machines. The role involves using screw guns, sockets, wrenches, and other power tools to assemble hydraulic, electrical, and sub-assembly parts. The assembly process occurs across four different stations that progressively increase in complexity, involving tasks such as installing brakes, tires, engines, lift arms, radiators, hoses, harnesses, sub-assemblies, electrifying the machine, and completing the final assembly with sheet metal and hopper installation.
Responsibilities
Utilize work instructions and hand tools to assemble industrial sweeping machines.
Operate screw guns, sockets, wrenches, and other power tools for assembly tasks.
Perform assembly tasks at four different stations, each requiring 4-5 hours of labor.
Install components including brakes, tires, engines, lift arms, radiators, hoses, harnesses, and sub-assemblies.
Complete final assembly by installing sheet metal and hopper.
Ensure all assembly processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
Essential Skills
Mechanical assembly experience
Proficiency in using hand and power tools such as screw guns and wrenches
Mechanical aptitude
Experience in hydraulic and heavy assembly
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Comfortable in mechanics, potentially from military, trade schools, or manufacturing environments
Knowledge of sockets, nuts, and bolts

Work Environment
Work in a clean manufacturing setting that deviates from traditional line assembly. The environment features well-lit and safety-conscious stations where multiple assembly processes are completed. The first shift operates from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with 3-5 hours of the person expected per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marengo, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
