The Buyer/Planner plays a critical role in supporting the continued growth of Integrity Orthopaedics following its acquisition by Smith+Nephew. As we expand production to support broader commercial launch and increasing demand, this role will ensure uninterrupted material supply within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This position owns procurement, material planning, production planning, and inventory strategy to enable scalable operations while maintaining strict compliance with FDA and quality system requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment and is motivated to build and strengthen supply chain processes during a period of operational expansion. This position is a P3 level. What will you be doing? Own end-to-end procurement of raw materials, components, and outside services to support increasing production volumes while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance. Develop and execute scalable production and material plans aligned with demand forecasts, capacity expansion, and ramp schedules. Strengthen supplier partnerships to support growth, including negotiating capacity commitments, improving lead times, and mitigating supply risk. Optimize inventory strategies to support production ramp while balancing service levels, costs, and obsolescence risk. Enhance ERP/MRP planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, order policies) to support operational scale and planning accuracy. Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to proactively resolve supply constraints and improve process flow. Identify and implement supply chain improvements that increase resilience, reduce cost, and improve responsiveness during scale-up. Ensure all procurement and planning activities remain compliant with FDA, ISO, and internal quality system standards. Support audits as required. What will you need to be successful? Education: Degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or a related discipline; Graduate degree preferred Certifications: Advanced procurement certification (e.g. CPM, CPPM, CPSM) is preferred Experience: 7-10 years' experience in procurement, planning, or supply chain with 3+ years within a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device preferred) 15+ years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred Knowledge: Strong understanding of MRP-driven planning, inventory control principles, and supplier performance management. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and strong analytical capabilities High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook Competences: Effective communicator with strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders. Compensation The anticipated base compensation rang for this position is $92,000.00- $137,750.00 USD annually. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
