Robert Half Purchasing Coordinator in Maple Grove, Minnesota
Description
We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join our team in Maple Grove, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a key part in managing procurement processes, maintaining inventory, and ensuring smooth shipping operations. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone with strong negotiation skills and a background in supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to secure critical and specialized materials essential to organizational operations.
• Negotiate contracts and select suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and inventory needs.
• Prepare shipping documentation, including international paperwork, and provide accurate freight quotes.
• Utilize ERP and MRP systems to streamline purchasing and shipping processes.
• Monitor inventory levels, calculate safety stock, and oversee cycle counting to ensure production requirements are met.
• Research and develop new supplier relationships while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Implement lean practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Support company policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals and ensure compliance.
• Participate in operational planning and contribute to setting metrics aligned with strategic objectives.
• Maintain detailed records and files related to purchasing and shipping activities.
Requirements
• Minimum of three years’ experience in purchasing or supply chain management.
• Familiarity with shipping processes, including international documentation.
• Proficiency with ERP and MRP systems for procurement and inventory management.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build lasting supplier relationships.
• Knowledge of lean practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
