Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II
Job Description
This position focuses on designing and manufacturing automated equipment for a variety of industries and general consumer products. The role involves creating mechanical designs that meet the technical, project cost, and schedule criteria of various projects. The Mechanical Engineer II will lead projects through the design phase and act as the primary technical contact internally and externally throughout manufacturing, assembly, debugging, final acceptance, and service.
Responsibilities
Develop concepts and design mechanical systems according to standards.
Ensure projects are delivered within budget.
Lead design teams effectively.
Provide technical expertise and support.
Implement product standards consistently.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Mechanical Design and SolidWorks.
Experience in Machine Design.
Project leadership skills in automation and packaging.
5+ years of experience with SolidWorks.
5+ years of experience in machine design or automated equipment.
5+ years of experience leading project teams or project management.
5+ years of experience with mechanisms, pneumatics, control devices, and manufacturing practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or AS Degree with 10+ years of experience.
Experience with the packaging industry is advantageous.
Motion control experience is a plus.
Work Environment
This role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with high-volume and short-duration projects, typically ranging from 6 to 10 weeks. The work setting includes both office and cubicle environments, with occasional floor visits required for machine troubleshooting. The position reports to a Principal Engineer and includes managing a team of 3-5 reports. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Maple Grove, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
