85 farmworkers are needed in Missaukee, Manistee, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Wexford, Benzie, Osceola, Antrim, Kalkaska, and Mason Counties, Michigan, to plant, cultivate, and harvest a variety of fruits, vegetables, and nursery products, including apples, cherries, peaches, strawberries, pumpkins, asparagus, tomatoes, grapes, peppers, and Christmas trees. Duties include planting, pruning, thinning, irrigating, weeding, harvesting crops to quality standards, operating farm equipment, performing orchard and field maintenance, and assisting with packing and transporting produce. Workers may also perform mechanical cherry harvesting, Christmas tree care and harvesting, and general farm upkeep. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs., with occasional team lifting of heavier items. Applicants must have at least 2 months of experience in hand harvesting and be able to work efficiently while following food safety and quality standards.
