Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician performs reactive and preventive maintenance on a wide range of production and facility equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on production machinery, supporting equipment upgrades, and helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient operation.
Responsibilities
Perform all reactive and preventive maintenance on production machinery to minimize downtime and ensure consistent operation.
Troubleshoot and repair mixers, blenders, packaging machinery, filling machinery, conveyors, and related production equipment.
Diagnose and resolve both mechanical and electrical issues on equipment, including work up to 480 volts.
Use a volt meter, blueprints, and electrical and mechanical schematics to identify root causes of equipment failures.
Perform welding and basic fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment and components.
Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders, valves, lines, and associated controls.
Carry out general facilities maintenance as needed to support overall plant operations.
Support equipment upgrades and increased automation by assisting with installation, adjustment, and maintenance of new machinery.
Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate equipment status and issues to supervisors and team members.
Collaborate with other technicians, machine operators, and production staff to prioritize work orders and maintain production schedules.
Follow all safety procedures and best practices when working with electrical systems, tools, and production machinery.
Participate in training and cross-training to stay current with evolving equipment and automation technologies.
Essential Skills
At least 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proven experience performing both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs on production machinery.
Demonstrated ability to work safely with electrical systems up to 480 volts.
Proficiency using a volt meter for electrical diagnostics and verification.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
Hands-on experience working with pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
Hands-on experience working with hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
Experience in food manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, or liquid packaging environments.
Capability to perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules and procedures.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and correct equipment issues.
Ownership of basic maintenance tools required to perform daily tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
PLC experience, including basic understanding of how PLC-controlled equipment operates and how to work around control systems during maintenance.
Welding and fabrication skills for repair and modification of equipment and structures.
Experience supporting equipment upgrades and automation projects.
Ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams with technicians, operators, and production staff.
Strong communication skills to clearly explain issues, solutions, and maintenance needs.
Organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment
The role is based on the production floor in a clean, organized manufacturing facility, working closely with other maintenance technicians, machine operators, and laborers. You will work with a variety of production equipment, including mixers, blenders, packaging lines, filling machines, conveyors, and associated pneumatic and hydraulic systems, as well as electrical systems up to 480 volts using tools such as volt meters and working from blueprints and schematics. The facility is undergoing internal changes and equipment upgrades to increase automation, so you will be exposed to evolving technologies and more automated processes. Openings are available on both first and second shift, with training provided on first shift from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Regular shift options include first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. You must be willing to work overtime, with typical peak-season schedules around 50 hours per week, and be available to work Saturdays and weekends as needed.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $73320.00/yr.
