Job Description:
Monitor food quality, freshness, taste, and presentation, enforcing proper labeling, rotation, and portion control practices to meet regulatory and organizational standards. Plan and requisition daily food supplies, assess production needs to prevent waste, and maintain organized workstations and tray lines, while promptly addressing equipment or inventory issues. Other duties as assigned. Lead food preparation by ensuring all items are cooked according to standardized recipes and patient-specific dietary guidelines, maintaining consistency and quality across all service areas. Coordinate production schedules to meet cafeteria, patient, and unit stocking needs, while maintaining adequate supplies of hot and cold menu items for daily and special functions. Operate and oversee the use of commercial kitchen equipment, ensuring staff follow safety protocols and food handling standards to deliver high-quality meals. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of purchasing operations, food service, or a related field to acquire appropriate knowledge of food service operations and budgetary control
• Knowledge of recipe development, product knowledge, meat cutting skills, garnishing skills, and soup stocks and soup development knowledge
• Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and handling technique
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards and practices
• Ability to work independently and manage teams comprised of individuals with various degrees of knowledge
• Excellent knowledge in customer service operations, techniques, and processes
• Ability to manage activities and nutrition service offerings
• Ability to check and rectify any compliance issues and generate reports
• Familiarity with Hospital policies and procedures and knowledge of patient diet orders
• Skills in kitchen management and inventory ordering systems
Education:
• Associate [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study:
• N/A
Work Experience:
• 2+ in lead culinary role [Preferred]
Additional Information:
• Food Safety Manager Certificate preferred or as required by state
Licenses and Certifications:
• Certified Food Safety Manager (CFSM) [Preferred]

$20.39 - $37.92
